It features a few different liqueurs: pistachio liqueur and amaretto. It's creamy from the heavy cream but still, a stronger drink since vodka is the base of this martini. ingredients 🧾

Vodka: You will need 2 ounces of vodka. My favorites are Grey Goose or Belvedere, however, it is fun to switch it up and try something new. Visit your local liquor store and have them help you pick out the perfect vodka for this martini.
Amaretto: This martini recipe calls for 1 ounce of amaretto liqueur. Amaretto is a sweet Italian liqueur that has a slightly nutty flavor. It is the essence of this pistachio martini.
Pistachio liqueur: To add to the green color and the pistachio flavor, 1 ounce of pistachio liqueur is added. The pistachio liqueur I use is Borgata pistachio liqueur. It is a creamy cordial with a subtle pistachio flavor. If you are looking for a sweeter martini, you can use ½ ounce of pistachio syrup.
Heavy cream: Just one ounce of heavy cream makes it a dessert-like martini. It gives it a rich, creamy texture.
Pistachios: Ground pistachios are used on the rim of the glass for texture and actual pistachio flavor. Simply ground crushed pistachios to a fine graham cracker-like texture using a pestle and mortar.

variations & substitutions 📖
Use your favorite vodka. I opt for a high-quality plain vodka like Grey Goose or Belvedere. However, you can use whatever vodka is your favorite including a flavored vodka. Some good flavored vodkas for this pistachio martini recipe are vanilla vodka or whipped cream.
To make the martini more green, add a splash of blue curacao. Blue curaçao deepens the green hue of the pistachio martini.
You can use any dairy or dairy-free substitute instead of heavy cream. I find heavy cream creates the most creamy texture but for a healthier or dairy-free alternative, you can also use almond milk, oat milk, a splash of half and half, or regular milk.
If you're looking for a gorgeous martini glass to showcase this pistachio martini, here are a few of my favorites. The classic cocktail glasses for a martini are an up glass. These are my favorite up glasses. A little different than the classic martini glass is a coupe glass. These glasses are smaller and more curved. These are my favorite coupe glasses. Lastly, for a fun take on this simple cocktail, try these stunning ribbed martini glasses. So aesthetic and modern!

tips & tricks 👩🏻🍳
Shake with plenty of ice. Shaking your martini with lots of ice in your cocktail shaker creates mini air bubbles and in turn, makes the martini thick and creamy. It creates that lovely froth on top of the drink.
Use a chilled martini glass. Placing your martini glasses in the freezer for just 30 minutes makes all the difference when enjoying this martini. It's like the martini they serve you at high-end bars. You can chill the glasses in the freezer for up to two hours.
step by step instructions 🔪
Before starting, place a martini glass in the freezer to chill while you make your cocktail.

Step #1 - Combine ingredients. Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker (2 ounces vodka, 1 ounce amaretto, 1 ounce pistachio liqeuer, and 1 ounce heavy cream).

Step #2 - Add ice. Fill the shaker with ice cubes. The bigger the ice cubes the better, so they do not melt as fast.

Step #3 - Shake. Vigorously shake to chill the cocktail and create a fluffy froth. Shake for at least 30 seconds to make the shaken martini.

Step #4 - Garnish & pour. Garnish your chilled glass with crushed pistachio, by dipping the rim in simple syrup and then in the finely crushed pistachios. Pour the shaken martini into the glass. Cheers!
serving suggestions 🍽️

faq's ❓
A pistachio martini has sweet almond notes from the amaretto but a nutty flavor from the pistachio liqueur. The consistency is super creamy and rich. It coats your mouth with luxury and flavor at just the first sip.
To create that thick froth on top of a martini, you must vigorously shake the martini in a cocktail shaker with ice for at least 30 seconds. This aerates the ingredients and forms a froth in the drink. When poured, the froth is the last to be added and sits at the top, looking both gorgeous and tasting delicious.
If you are looking for a great-tasting vodka but with a reasonable cost, try Titos, Effen, or Ketel One. All of these vodkas are smooth and crisp, therefore perfect for any martini.
