welcome to essence eats!
Hey there, I’m Emma Essence! I am the photographer, videographer, recipe developer, and writer behind Essence Eats. Here on Essence Eats, you will find comfort food dishes that will make your heart & tummy feel warm & full.
A little bit about me! I am 25 years old and live in Tempe, Arizona. Outside of food blogging, I am a corporate girly working in anti-money laundering. I have two adorable pups, Bennie who is a cockapoo & Petey who is a boxer pitbull mix (is there a name for that, maybe boxbull?). I am engaged to my best friend, Trey, and we are currently in the thick of planning an intimate wedding and adventurous honeymoon. Clearly, my main hobby is cooking, but I also love to play pickle-ball, do DIY projects around my home, & watch mindless tv (love island I’m looking at you).
about essence Eats
Growing up with a single mom & 3 siblings, I was mostly the one cooking meals. The kitchen very quickly became my favorite place to be. Not only because I loved to experiment with flavor and recipes, but also because I saw that it brought my family together to enjoy a dish. It was the feeling of ultimate comfort.
That is exactly what sprouted Essence Eats! I create dishes that give that same feeling, the feeling of being full inside & out. Here you can find everything from decadent desserts to warm soups and all the cozy things in between.
All of my recipes outline what ingredients are the best quality for that recipe, as well as where to buy them, tips & tricks to nail the recipe, and even a how-to video to follow along while making. I believe homemade recipes made from scratch are always worth the extra effort, so my recipes reflect that!
Comfort food is many things. It can be homemade brie baked mac & cheese or chocolate chunk oatmeal cookies, but ultimately it is foods that give you that feeling of love and contentedness. My love language is cooking. After all, what says I love you more than a home cooked meal? I hope these recipes are loved by you as much as I love them, and can become staples in your home.
